International Career Development Programs

FACC New York’s International Career Development Program (ICDP) provides visa sponsorship for French and American young professionals interested in working abroad.

Training Program for Americans in France

ICDP helps young American professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 work in France for 3 to 18 months by guiding them through the administrative side of working abroad. We help secure all necessary documents, most importantly visas and authorizations. To be eligible for visa sponsorship, the candidates’ positions must be with a private company, be full-time and pay at least the French minimum wage. Candidates must be American citizens ages 18 to 35 and must be either enrolled in college or have obtained a college degree.

Those interested in working abroad as an American trainee must secure a position with a French company before applying for visa sponsorship with the ICDP.

International Trainees and Interns in the U.S.

The French-American Chamber of Commerce New York Chapter is authorized by the State Department to sponsor eligible Interns and Trainees on a J-1 visa by issuing the Certificate of Eligibility, Form DS-2019. The J-1 visa allows participants in our program to come to the United States for up to 12 months as Interns or for up to 18 months as Trainees for full-time, paid exchange programs at eligible FACC member companies.

French citizens may qualify for J-1 visas under the Volontariat International en Entreprise (VIE) program - overseas corporate missions for eligible European citizens. Information about the VIE program can be found at www.ubifrance.com. A list of current VIE job offers can be found at www.civiweb.com.
