Breakfast Panel Discussion by the Women for Women Committee
APRIL 21, 2016
Work-life balance in a hyper-connected world. How different generations shape perspectives and choices.
At no other time in history have five distinct generations - Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation Xers, Millennials, and Gen 2020 - co-existed in the U.S. labor force. Each group has its own unique values, attitudes and approaches toward work and life. Each generation differs too in it use of technology, which impacts how it finds balance between work and life domains.
Whether through choices, tradeoffs or fusion, all generations seek the same end goal – to harmoniously integrate the demands of work, community and self so that one can develop, grow and thrive. The Women for Women (W4W) committee* is pleased to host a panel discussion that will explore the concept of work-life balance from a generational perspective and in the context of our panelists’ personal and professional experiences. Panelists will discuss the strategies, tactics and choices they have made in order to find the optimal balance or fusion between work, home, community, and self.
