ITCC: Workshop Import Series
Leveraging data & AI to enhance trade compliance programs An Interactive Discussion on Opportunities, Risks & Responsibilities

Building on Workshop I, Managing Risk in International Trade, the second session of our Fall Import Workshop Series examines how data, analytics, and AI are changing international trade compliance — and what those changes mean for your business.
Our goal is not to make you an AI expert. It is to help you better understand the opportunities, risks, and responsibilities associated with using these technologies, through real-world examples, industry headlines, and an interactive discussion where attendees are encouraged to share their perspectives. The session is strictly informative and does not constitute legal or customs advice.
Date: Tuesday, November 10, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (prompt noon conclusion)
Location: 333 North Michigan Avenue, 4th Floor Meeting Room, Chicago, IL
Registration: ITCC Members – $20 • Non-Members – $30
Capacity: Seating is limited for an intimate, interactive setting — register early
What We Will Cover
- The Changing Trade Environment — how technology and data analytics are influencing compliance, enforcement, and business operations
- Practical Applications — where AI and automation can help importers, exporters, customs brokers, and logistics providers improve efficiency and identify potential issues earlier
- Risks & Responsibilities — accurate data, appropriate oversight, regulatory compliance, and the role of third-party technology providers
- Industry Developments — relevant headlines and regulatory developments, and what they actually mean for businesses
- Organizational Considerations — questions companies should be asking before implementing AI or making operational changes based on anticipated efficiencies
What You Will Take Away
Participants will leave with a better understanding of how these developments may affect their organizations, along with practical questions and action steps to bring back to their teams — the ability to identify where AI and analytics may create value, recognize potential compliance risks, and initiate internal discussions with Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and IT.
Attendees will also receive a short takeaway document to share within their organizations.
